Drafts for Music Magazine

Here is a photo of my draft for my music magazine and contents page. I drew these up to show how i planned what i wanted to do for my music magazine. I decided to put the masthead at the top centre of the magazine it and it will be in bold to stand out. I want the image to be a close up since i am focussing on my models eyes and lips, (it will make sense in the end!). I wanted my model to wear some funky clothing and her hair to be up. I think i want some of the fonts to be in sans serif. I wanted to promote an advertisement of winning a trip to an island with 3 friends where a concert will be held with David Guetta and other famous stars. I want 4 cover lines and a banner on my magazine cover since I want it to be clear to my audience. I want to put the stencil font idea on my cover page as I think this really fits with the electro feel. I want to be simple but have such detail behind the magazine.
    
 For my contents page I want a photo in the middle of my model preferably in black and white, I think this will look really effective as I want to start playing around with my images. My inspiration would be MixMag's contents however with a different colour background. I really like the idea of labelling and having sections since I like it to be organised. I'm going to have sections which include.. Hot news, Fan base, Competitions, Newbies, and Tour dates. I like the idea of it being sectioned as when I read a magazine I like to see what section I can skip to first and which bits will interest me the most. I love the stencil font idea which seems to be very popular on electronica/dance magazine. I think I will incorporate this into my magazine as a trademark. I like the idea of my sections being highlighted as well, and I think in different colours would be really funky. I was thinking to have one of the photos as the word 'electric' in glitter.

For my double page spread I want it to be an interview on my artist which will feature in the newbie section of the contents magazine. My artist will be called Spicez. I want two photos on my contents page one at the top of the first page and one at the bottom of the second, I think the layout would look good like this, I got some inspiration from MixMag where there were 3 little sections, however as my DPS will be an interview I need to think how to successfully setting
it out where it wont look cluttered or not like an interview. When I was researching a DPS for NME they had lots of small photos around the edge which looked good like a portfolio, I think I will also give this idea a shot.
