My Questionnaire

I thought as part of my research and planning and in order to get a sense of my audience I wanted to create a questionnaire, as my primary focus is hearing what your audience want in order to be successful. I gave these out to my friends and family in order to get a fraction of what they thought.

Questions
1. How old are you?
2. Do you tend to buy music magazines?
3. How often?
4.What is your favourite genre of music?
5. Would you  be more willing to buy a electronica/dance magazine if it had a freebie/competiton?
6. Which artist would you pick out of the following?
  • Swedish house mafia
  • Skrillex
  • Owl City
  • David Guetta
  • Avicii
7. What do you think of the name 'Electraheart'?
8. What is the first thing you look at on a magazine?
  • Masthead(Title)
  • Image
  • Price
  • Other
Questionnaires are a good source of qualitative data, and I know they are good for obtaining quick information which will help me for my research and ideas for my music magazine. The good thing about questionnaires is you can put any relevant content you wish in them (e.g. it doesn't have to be structured) and you can gather large amounts of information comparing to other research methods such as an interview. The only bad thing about questionnaires is people have the tendency to lie or may not wish to do them in depth so they scan it and tick random boxes without putting there true thought into it.

These are my results!
