Desinging my Prelimary task

Before designing my school magazine i should consider factors which will influence how it is designed.

Firstly who is my target audience? Parents, students? Mainly students will be my primary focus.

Style guides and Templates
 In magazine designing consistency is imperative for creating familarity to the target audience. As im only desinging the front page, if i had the chance to do different issues i would keep the house style the same.

Equipment
I used my Iphone 4 to take some photos of some images i would be using for my main cover. Ofcourse i wanted to take a few to decide which one would be most suitable for my magazine.

Unique or sticking to conventions?
I do want to stick to standard conventions, however only to an extent, I want to use the basics e.g. Masthead at the top, coverlines etc but make it edgy in my own way.

Logo
I will use our school logo on my magazine cover to make it familiar to students and represent the school.

Colour scheme
I want to imprint the schools house colours onto my magazine.
